This project began with the concept of light in nature.
This set of photos explores the nature of light in everyday settings with the goal of inspiring designs driven by light as a material.
Ideation started by sketching fractal patterns and repetition seen in nature.
Experimenting with the material and its properties was essential.
Refining potential patterns to ensure they are reproducible and that they accentuate the properties of light through contrast.
The Final Product
Natural repetitive forms, patterns revealed by turning on light.
The light is built in two parts:
1. The outer section made up of folded, patterned pieces
2. The inner section, which diffuses the light and provides structure
